About this speaker

Zach Riepma joined the Alma College football coaching staff in January 2020.

"I'm excited about the opportunity to join the Scots and add to the rich tradition at Alma," said Riepma. "Having been a part of this league as a player, I can attest to the pride and passion around the MIAA and am excited to be a part of it again. I am looking forward to coming in and helping to continue to build the strong culture that has been established by Coach Couch and the staff. The pride and passion this staff exhibits on a daily basis is contagious and my family and I cannot wait to get started in helping to take the next step forward for the Scots football program!"

"We are very fortunate to welcome Coach Zach Riepma to the Alma College football family," said Head Coach Jason Couch. "Zach brings a wealth of knowledge and experience. He grew up in a football house and has been around football his entire life. Coming from Northwood University in Midland, Zach knows how to recruit Michigan and is familiar with our local community. His passion for football and building relationships with players is obvious, Zach will make a great addition to the coaching staff. He has already shown that he has bought into the KILTstyle culture."

Riepma had spent the previous six years as an assistant coach at Northwood University, serving as the wide receivers coach for two years before being promoted to offensive coordinator for the 2016 season. His responsibilities included creating scouting reports, play-calling, and monitoring student-athletes' academics. Under his direction, the Timberwolves' rushing attack averaged over 200 yards per game and scored nearly 26 points per game during the 2017 season.

Prior to his time at Northwood, Riepma was a graduate assistant with Central Michigan University, where he worked with the wide receivers. He has also been a graduate assistant at Wayne State University in 2012, working with the defensive backs.

Zach is the son of Pat Riepma, who spent 16 years as the head football coach at Northwood and is the all-time winningest coach in its program's history.
