About this speaker
Rex Rover enters his third season with the John Carroll University football program in the 2023-24 school year as an assistant coach working with the Wide Receivers. Prior to the 2022 season, Rover was given the additional duties of Director of Football Operations. Prior to the 2023 season, Rover was given the additional duties of Recruiting Coordinator.
Under Rover's direction, Brennan Fugh earned First Team All-OAC status in 2022, while Joe Torok tabbed Honorable Mention honors. During the 2021 season, Fugh tallied First Team All-OAC and All-Region honors during the 2021 season. Devin Limerick also garnered Honorable Mention All-OAC status.
Rover came to John Carroll after spending the 2020-2021 season as an Offensive Quality Control/Assistant Running Backs’ coach at William & Mary (VA).
Prior to William & Mary, Rover spent the 2019-2020 season at the University of San Diego as an Offensive Assistant/Assistant Tight Ends’ coach. USD was a 2019 FCS Playoff Participant after winning the Pioneer Football League and ranked in the FCS top 10 in several Offensive Categories. During his time in San Diego, Rover worked closely with Dalton Kincaid who was named an AP All-American (Third Team) as a sophomore after recording 44 receptions, 835 receiving yards, and 8 TDs in 12 games.
Rover graduated from Gonzaga University in Spokane, WA with a degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education. During his time in Spokane, he served as an assistant coach at Gonzaga Preparatory High School, and won 4 consecutive league titles and a WIAA 4A State Championship in 2015.
A native of Palm Desert, California, he graduated from Xavier College Preparatory High School in 2014.
